reflecting on april

As I sit here and look back on April, it feels like the start of a new chapter for me, one I’ve been dreaming about for a long time. Opening the lwdecor studio has been nothing short of magical. It was a dream realized, and as the days have passed, I can’t help but feel a sense of gratitude for every step that led me here.

The opening was just the beginning, but already, it feels like so much more. We’ve hosted two beautiful pop-ups in the studio, and in those moments, I was reminded of the true power of community. There’s something so special about meeting people face to face, sharing stories, and connecting over a shared love of creativity and design. I’ve been so inspired by every conversation, every new connection, and all the familiar faces that walked through the door. Each moment felt like a little spark, a reminder of why I started this journey in the first place.

the simple joys of spring

Spring has always held a special place in my heart, and this year it feels even more meaningful. The warmer weather, the fresh air, the new blooms — it’s all been so refreshing. Lately, I’ve been spending more time in the garden. If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you know how much I love this time of year. Watching the boys dig in the soil, planting seeds, and discovering the magic of nature with their little hands has been such a grounding experience for me.

My mom always loved gardening. It was one of her favorite ways to connect with nature, and I find myself thinking of her often as I plant new flowers and watch things bloom. There’s something so special about growing a garden — not just the plants, but the memories. It’s one of those things that connects us to nature, to each other, and to the present moment. And every time I step outside, it’s a little piece of peace that I carry with me.

a special tradition

If you’ve been following for a while, you know about our butterfly tradition in honor of my mom. Last year, we grew butterflies to release near her birthday, and it was such a beautiful experience. Last year, one special butterfly waited until just around Mother’s Day to emerge. It felt like a sign from her — gentle, meaningful, and just what we needed.

That butterfly danced around us for hours, landing on the kids’ noses, heads, and hands. It was like it was playing with them, reminding us that love is always with us, even in the smallest of moments. This continued through the summer last year. As we move into this year, I can’t help but wonder what signs she’ll bless us with next. Each butterfly, each moment, feels like a little reminder of her presence. It’s been a way for us to connect with her in a very personal and magical way.

a look ahead

As we enter May, I’m feeling a sense of calm excitement. There’s so much to look forward to at the studio, from upcoming pop-ups to workshops. We’ve got something really special happening on May 10th, the day before Mother’s Day. We’ll be launching a new candle, lavender fields, in honor of my mom. It’s a scent I worked closely with Katie from 75 Oak to create, and I can’t wait for you to experience it. The candle is a tribute to my mom, and I know it will be a meaningful gift for those celebrating the mothers in their lives.

If you’re local, I’d love to see you at our May 10th pop-up from 12–3 PM. The studio will be filled with seasonal pieces and inspiration to help you welcome spring — and of course, it’s where you’ll find the very first chance to shop the new candle.

a season of growth

April brought so many milestones, but it’s only just the beginning. There’s a lot of growth on the horizon — for the studio, for the business, and for me personally. I’m taking it one step at a time, staying true to my purpose, and allowing myself to savor the journey. It’s so easy to get caught up in the doing, but lately, I’m making space for the being — and remembering that the small moments are what truly matter.

I’m so grateful for the support I’ve received and for each of you who have followed along on this journey. If you’ve visited the studio, shopped my online collections, or simply followed me on Instagram — thank you. Your support means the world to me.

As always, I’ll be here, sharing bits of life, design, and inspiration along the way. I’m excited for what’s ahead — for all of us.
