Easter Basket for Kids

I still cannot believe we are half way through March already and thinking about Easter baskets. Typically on Easter we head over to a family member's house to enjoy some extended family time; however this year, we will be celebrating at home with the littles and grandparents. I am looking forward to when we can spend time with our extended family (hopefully soon) until then we will continue to soak in the time as a fam. Christmas in July, anyone?? 

Easter baskets are one of my favorites to put together! I think the combo of knowing spring is around the corner and knowing we will be spending more time outdoors excite me! I tend to go a bit overboard filling their baskets with fun activities that we can do on a rainy day or even when it is sunny out. Some may say I tend to go a bit overboard, but I love making the holidays  extra special for the boys. It is something I love doing and  seeing their faces in the morning make it so worth it! 

This year, I started to purchase items a few weeks ago. Typically each time I run to Target I add a few items here and there mainly because while I am shopping for the items, they are bringing out the new seasonal items. Similar to my Valentines baskets, I tend to stick to a theme - a book, a game, a treat, a craft, and activity. However given that spring is around the corner, I do add in a little extra in there such as bubbles, chalk, etc. These are items I would replenish every year anyways so it is a nice addition to the baskets. I think it makes the kids extra excited knowing they will be spending more time outdoors as well.

On Easter, we typically do an Easter egg hunt either indoors or out (weather permitting). Then we always fly kites - with the hopes that it is a windy day! What are some of your Easter traditions?
